Exam Style Question

Mojo is a music magazine owned by the publisher Bauer. It talks about the rock genre and classic rock, it is aimed at middle aged men that are into to modern and classic with high disposable income as it is quite an expensive magazine.

The masthead is its first way of attracting the audience. It is bold, in capital letters and has a sans serif font which promotes masculinity. This attracts the audience as it is a male dominant audience, and as it promotes masculinity males will pick up the magazine. Also, big bold capital letters are usually associated with the rock genre. This means that people that only read the masthead into rock are more likely to pick it up.

The colour scheme of the cover helps a lot to attract

Homework - 11/12/17

Magazine Covers:

  • On the cover, the Trey is represented as a typical macho male. He is strong and looks like a leader. He is also in a bathroom and is in a shower. The cover is saying how the man is 'the hardest in RnB' and the image being a typical macho male and Trey looking strong and a leader makes it seem like if you're a RnB artist you'll be strong like him. This makes the magazine sell as men into RnB would want to be like Trey and want to know how to be.
